At the end of 2017, I somehow got in touch on Instagram with Barbora – a Czech photographer who was an Erasmus student in Strasbourg and the one with whom I felt confident in embracing my dark side in front of the camera.

As she was searching to photograph new profiles for her portfolio, Barbora proposed that we work together. I didn’t need to think twice before accepting it, as I immediately felt that something special was going to result from this collaboration. By the way, Barbora was thinking of photographing me in a colorful outfit but I had other plans – you can discover them yourself in the pictures.

For those of you who aren’t used with photo-shootings, I’ll take this opportunity to tell you how this happens for me. When shooting in a public place, it can be difficult to feel free and not notice the passersby staring and commenting what you are doing (especially if you are wearing an unusual outfit and/or make-up). So it is very important to trust your photographer, who has to make you feel comfortable and has to understand your ideas, the things that inspire you and those which are not and vice-versa. Because, in the end, what you both want is beautiful images and the main condition for this is YOU.

Anyway, this is one of the reasons why blogging and fashion photo shootings will remain just a hobby – I can’t imagine myself doing this as a profession. On the other hand, this gives me the wonderful occasion to reinvent and, often, to discover less explored sides of personality. Although I love every single photo I created for this blog, this is the first time when I had a pure feeling of freedom and delight while shooting. I know this is very cliché, but I guess you cannot be complete without your dark side  😉

So, I published two parts of this shooting:

-> above, you have Barbora’s selection of photos, edited by her;

-> below is my selection, edited by me. Obviously, my editing is not a professional one (and my monitor has a terrible calibration), but what I wanted to bring out were the shadows and the industrial background.

Which selection of photos do you prefer: mine or Barbora’s? Let me know in the comments below 🙂

By the way, if you ever travel to Prague and would like to create some special memories in this amazing city, do not hesitate to contact Barbora, who is now back in her country, for a professional photo shooting. I guarantee you an unforgettable experience! For more details, she will be happy to answer to your messages on her Facebook page 🙂
