Slow living is a lifestyle emphasizing slower approaches to aspects of everyday life; away from the fast pace of big cities, take a step back and start consciously enjoying life. Espresso should be only the coffee (and my newest blog category!), not our lives.

I always associate Switzerland with slow living, because of its beautiful lakes, mountains and people that never seem to rush. These pictures were taken on the shores of the lake Luzern, only 10 minutes away from the very agitated and full of tourists city center of Luzern. The outfit I am wearing is composed of some of my favorite pieces that I currently have in my wardrobe and I was so inspired to wear it when I decided to chose Luzern as the location for a new shooting.

Don’t ask why, but I associate this lifestyle with minimalist outfits and I always try to add a little twist (because minimalism is NOT boring). You can never go wrong with an all black basis, a neutral color for the coat – light grey in my case – and for the shoes and bag as well. This is an ideal transitional look, to which I couldn’t resist adding my favorite twist: a silk scarf, worn à la Grace Kelly. The scarf is colorful, yet neutral and represents a small hint to the first flowers of spring (just like the small, cute details on my bag).

Slow living est un style de vie mettant l’accent sur un ralentissement du rythme de notre vie; loin de la précipitation des grandes villes, il faut prendre du recul et commencer à profiter de la vie de façon consciente. Seulement le café (et la dernière catégorie de ce blog!) devrait être espresso.

J’associe tout naturellement la Suisse avec le slow living, grâce à ses très jolis lacs, montagnes et les gens qui ont l’air de ne jamais se dépêcher. Ces photos ont été réalisées aux bords du lac de Lucerne: un hâvre de paix à seulement 10 minutes du centre-ville.

A mon esprit, ce style de vie s’associe très bien avec le minimalisme, qui est, d’ailleurs, mon credo en matière vestimentaire. Le total look noir que j’ai choisi comme base de cette tenue est la définition du style: il affine la silhouette, évite les fashions faux-pas, ajoute une allure chic aux influences rock. Ceci est une tenue parfaite pour la transition entre l’hiver et le printemps, à laquelle je n’ai pas pu résister à ajouter mon accessoire préféré: un carré de soie, porté à la façon de Grace Kelly. Et parce que “minimalisme” ne veut pas dire “ennuyeux”, mon foulard est coloré, tout en restant neutre et représente un petit rappel des premières fleurs de printemps (ainsi que les petites insertions de mon sac).
